Bill Henderson is Executive Vice President and Membership Group General Manager for International SOS. International SOS (http://www.internationalsos.com) is the world's leading international healthcare, medical and security assistance, and concierge services company. Operating in over 70 countries, International SOS provides integrated medical, clinical, security, and customer care solutions to organizations with international operations. A global team of over 8,000 employees led by 970 full-time physicians and 200 security specialists provides services including planning, preventative programs, in-country expertise and emergency response to 66 percent of the Fortune Global 500 companies.

Prior to 2007, Bill enjoyed a nine-year career in executive management with IMS Health. IMS Health is the world's leading provider of information solutions to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, employing 5,900 professionals in more than 100 countries. For two years Bill served as VP of Strategic Development for IMS Health. In that role he was charged with generating and bringing into production new service and product ideas with IMS's customers in the Rx Supply and Distribution chain.

Prior to this, Bill served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for IMS Asia Pacific, working in Tokyo, Japan during 2003 and 2004. His business unit successfully created and launched a major initiative to track the sales distribution of drugs in the Far East during that time.

While in the U.S., as a Senior Director of Marketing since 1998, Bill and his marketing teams conceptualized, defined, developed and launched a half dozen new products into the U.S. pharmaceutical management market. Among these were:

  • Products that ensured drug company compliance with FDA rules around drug sampling to prescribers.
  • Products to help reps call on targeted prescribers with more accuracy.
  • Messaging products that enabled drug companies to see patterns in prescriber behavior that might indicate future behavior.
  • 'Longitudinal' Rx applications that for the first time allowed insight into doctor behavior around new therapy starts, dosing, refill activity, and patient persistence and compliance.

Prior to joining IMS, Bill spent six years in consulting, working onsite at such companies as Astra Merck and Wyeth (American Home Products), as well as managing projects for managed care provider Prudential Insurance. In various capacities, Bill has gained an in-depth understanding of how these key players in the healthcare industry have leveraged technology and information to make sound business decisions.

Bill Henderson spent the first 10 years of his career in sales and marketing management at IBM in Philadelphia. As Manager of Personal Systems marketing for three states, Bill and his team helped automate industry in the region during the explosion of personal computing and connectivity that revolutionized business in the 1980s and 90s. He was a frequent presenter at executive forums on connectivity and technology and prides himself on his ability to take complicated issues and make them understandable and relevant to his audiences.

He is a graduate of the College for Business Management of Drexel University in Philadelphia. A baseball historian by hobby, he has authored a definitive guide on Major League Baseball uniforms, which is a part of the reference library of the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Bill is also a trained violinist who enjoys playing in various orchestras and community theater productions whenever possible.
